EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- A local little league group has earned a spot in the Cal Ripken World Series but needs a little help getting there.

The 10-A Willamette Valley All Stars were on 25th and Willamette Thursday spreading the word about upcoming fundraisers they're hosting to help pay for a trip to Arkansas.

The group is taking off next week and have to pay for ten days of hotel rooms and food not only for the players but for their families as well.

The kids told NewsSource 16 they can't wait for their trip but said they know they have work to do before getting back on the field.

"It's a pretty good experience. It's also gonna be my first time flying so that's also good, too. We need lots and lots of help, lots of money so we can go," said Johnathan Prescott, a player for the All Stars.

On Saturday, the kids will wash cars at Papa's Pizza on Coburg Road. The team plans to host a baseball camp Monday for kids ages five to twelve at the Eugene Christian Fellowship Church. On Tuesday, they will return to Papa's Pizza for a pizza fundraiser.
