EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is asking for support tonight after a Sheriff’s Deputy and his wife were critically injured while on vacation out of the country.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office says Deputy Drew Wattier and his wife Michelle Wattier are both listed in critical, but stable condition.

The two were victims in a hit-and- run incident at 7 PM on Friday, November 30, in Los Cabos, Mexico. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office says the two were outside their hotel when they were hit by a car while on foot.

Sheriff’s deputies have set up an assistance fund for the two at SELCO Community Credit Union.
