Lane County Jail releases 31 more inmates, one re-arrested 55 minutes later

Another round of inmate releases from the Lane County Jail took place Thursday morning with one inmate rearrested as the Lane County Sheriff's office shuttered another wing of the facility in response to budget cuts.

I feel the powers to be are scaring the citizens of the Eugene Springfield area! I can think of several cuts that should be made FIRST before letting hardened criminals free. It is time to fire this sheriff! Really, does it make sense to have police officers employed if there is no jail for the bad folks? Seems to me, you cannot have one without the other.
