EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- The Lane County Fair has packed up for the summer, but come next year, it’ll be a little bit earlier and maybe a bit bigger.
The 2013 Lane County Fair will happen in July, from the 24th to the 28th - that’s about a month earlier than the usual mid-August fair date.
Fair goers hope that getting out of the August event schedule will help them go bigger and better.
"By moving to July, we're moving to a different set of partners. Some of them are bigger fairs, which then allows us to look at a higher caliber, different types, so we're going to have the ability to really look at our entertainment buying power,” says Rachel Bivens, Marketing Director for the Lane Events Center.
Organizers hope to have next year’s entertainment lined up and announced by the end of 2012 or January 2013.
With a new month for the fair, Bivens says it opens the door to welcoming back the 4H competition if the organization bounces back in Lane County.
