This is no more than the county's effort to get more money to spend. Of all the money the county gets for everything why not deduct 10% from all the other programs and give it to the jail and sheriff department. I don't hear any other county agency taking hits. We really need to get these people making these kinds of decisions OUT OF OFFICE.

The people running the county continue to refuse to do what needs to be done. Bring County employee salaries and benefits including PERS into parity with the private sector. If they do this, there is plenty of money to run everything and keep the jail beds. Oh, I know there would be screaming by government employees about having to suffer like the very people that are paying for them, but they would just have to get used to it like the rest of us. What the county administrators are doing now is trying to coerce and intimidate the public out of some more money. It will not work for two reasons. There is no more money, and next year will be worse. So County do what has to be done.

Since the county is powerless, then lets downsize by eliminating the jail, the prosecutor, and judges involved. No need to have them on the public payroll if they can't do anything.
