Lane County Courthouse among many evacuated statewide

EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- A bomb threat forced the evacuation of the Lane County Courthouse on Monday.

It was one of several county courthouses in Oregon that received phoned in bomb threats at about 2:30 PM.

These threats appear to be similar to multiple reports received November 15 in Washington state and November 2 in Nebraska, which were all unfounded.

Security officials swept the building checking for any suspicious objects.

The Oregon State Police General Headquarters in the Public Service Building in Salem received a similar report at approximately 3:00 PM.

The building was evacuated and allowed employees back in to their work locations at about 4:00 PM after an area check was completed.

The following locations have confirmed with OSP receiving similar threats:

  •  Jefferson County
  •  Tillamook County
  •  Deschutes County
  •  Morrow County
  •  Grant County

  •  Umatilla County
  •  Marion County

  •  Klamath County
  •  Lake County
  •  Union County
