Please quit wasting money on these rediculous research firms to try to figure out what everyone already knows. Excessive lavish benefits, PERS, etc. etc.

I would like to know why the Lane County Commissioners refuse to address the real problems. The county needs to renegotiate all of its Union Contracts to role back wages and salaries to equal the private sector. Role back benefits to equal the private sector. Require that all public employees contribute to a retirement system in the amount of 6 percent, which would then be matched by the county. This would all be pretty generous given the state of the economy for the private sector. Sure it will take some study (I would volunteer to do my part) of the private sector to determine what is fair in the way of wages and salaries and retirement, overtime, equipment, etc, etc, but it would save the taxpayer millions. The county would then not hear the continual complaints about taxes. The county would not have to spend there every waking hour trying to figure how they can get more money out of the private sector. Would someone, anyone out there explain to me why anyone in the private sector would want to pay for something they could only dream of having, please????

I wish everyone was a millionaire and lane county had so much money in their coffers, that they had to throw away the excess in dumpsters, but unfortunately thats not the case. Oregon has one of the highest property tax rates in the U.S. I love living in oregan and especially in eugene, but its getting pretty darn expense, maybe i could afford it, if i could just land me one of thoses city or county jobs with benefits.(pers)..

How much you want lane county?. 20% of my paycheck?.50% of my paycheck?.How about if you just send me your direct deposit information and i will have my employer just direct deposit my paycheck into the county coffers, of course I will need a tent spot reserved down in the park,, preferable by the river please, with a nice view, and close to the mission, so i can get myself a bowl of soup occasionally.
