Lane Co. 911 center overloaded with calls

The Lane County Sheriff's offices asks residents not to call 911 because of downed trees.

and the next time that little old lady calls for the fire department to rescue her cat in the tree... send someone from the PD with a rifle and scope...Lady...the cat will come down by itself

People are so F-ing stupid in this town. They should levy a $100 dollar fine each time a NON emergence call is received by 911..... Only an idiot thinks power off, lines down, computer wont work, snow in the drive way etc..etc is an emergency.
