Eugene (KMTR) – Lane Transit District and its workers’ union, Amalgamated Transit Union, have signed a new three-year agreement. After a year of bargaining by both sides, the union members ratified the contract last Friday and the LTD board approved it Monday afternoon.

Among the provisions in the new contract, workers will get a 2% wage increase each year, there will be a cap on future increases in premiums for health care insurance, and LTD will move toward a different model for pensions.

The agreement will remain in effect until June, 2014.

The new terms apply to LTD’s drivers, maintenance staff and customer service workers.
