EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- it was pomp-and-circumstance and celebration for hundreds of students Saturday night as LCC kicked off three days of local graduation ceremonies.
The Lane Community College Class of 2012 graduated at the Lane Events Center on Saturday, June 16th. Students taking part have either earned two-year Associate Degrees or certificates.
Ami Allison was one of the hundreds involved in the ceremony. She's headed to the University of Oregon's art program with the dream of becoming a jeweler. "It's an extremely proud and emotional moment. I've spent six years getting here and it's unbelievable,” said Allison.
More than 36,000 students take classes at Lane Community College each year. The college reports 83 percent of its career technical grads get jobs in their field of study.
