Roseburg, Or (KMTR) The tip line may be based in Roseburg, but they serve the entire state, sometimes even getting calls from across the country. Several volunteers man the phones at the O.S.U. extension all day, answering questions from folks looking to make, bake, or cook all kinds of food for the holiday season.

The volunteers reference a wall full of cookbooks and recipe guide, but volunteers don't just depend on books for the right answers. Most are experienced in all things culinary, though even they can be stumped from time to time.

"That's the reason we have professors available to us,” says Sonja Mason, “that we can call and get the information and return the call back to the party so that we're not guessing at answers"

She says most calls they receive concern food preservation, but they can help with just about everything.

If you have a question, call 1-800-354-7319.
