Jury deadlocked in Angelica Swartout aggravated murder trial

A hung jury means to jury has reached an impasse, it doesn't mean that a defendant is not guilty. Otherwise they jury would have aquitted her, which is what "not guilty" means. It might not have anything to do with the evidence at all, it could relfect more on the jurors than either the prosecution or the defense. If this was truly a jury of Swartout's peers, maybe they were just confused.

jeez!! lane county D.A. i thought a hung jury meant you are not guilty due to insufficient evidence to convict. why is the lane county D.A.'s office wasting my tax dollars,chasing another trial??? if there is resonable doubt, why would you keep pursuing this case?. damn, get back into reality, you are WASTING MY TAX DOLLARS ON A CASE THAT IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!! Please find a better use for your time..

She's definitely guilty of lying. But which was the lie? Did she have an early miscarriage, was she never pregnant and just pretending to be.. or did she give a live birth and smother the baby? Without any other proof we may never know. I find it hard to believe that a doctor can't say FOR SURE that she's ever given birth!

I mean.. I DON'T think she filed it against herself.

I think she filed a police report against herself. If I remember right, it was her sister that did??

If a future jury decides that she's not guilty, I hope the agency or agencies involved charge her with filing a false police report and get judgments against her for the time and resources wasted searching through the garbage dump for a dead baby.
