ROSEBURG, Ore. (KMTR) -- An inmate escaped from the Douglas County jail Friday morning and deputies think he may be heading to the Eugene area.Thomas Ivan Grimes, 32, of Springfield, was discovered missing about 6 AM. Investigators are trying to find out how he managed to get away.
Grimes was being held on several warrants for attempting to elude officers, car theft, reckless driving and reckless endangering. He was also being held on parole warrants from Lane County.
Grimes stands five fee, eight inches tall, weighs 150 pounds, has a shaved head and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a white sleeveless T-shirt and dark jeans.
The Sheriff’s office says Grimes may be dangerous. Anyone who sees him or has information regarding his whereabouts should call 911.
