Does anyone else find the story suspect, re: The arrestees admitted to LEAVING the demonstration when Police action commenced....sounds like they are either too chickenshit to do what the article is implying, or, more likely, are plants hoping to discredit the movement. Will be interesting to see what a little REAL research turns up.

Janice P., you seem to have overlooked the minor facts that the Tea Party demonstrators who were armed were doing so legally and peacefully. The news story above reports that a.) officers were injured by explosives wielded violent, i.e, non-peaceful "occupy" demonstrators, a b.) the parties arrested here were in possession of explosives illegal under both State and Federal laws, explosives packaged in a way that would have created serious shrapnel if detonated inside those jars. Under the Dangerous Weapons Act of 1968 all three can and should be charged with possession of dangerous weapons. If anything, the reporter under-reported it out of ignorance of the seriousness of the offense.

The 'intent' was to escalate the occupy protests into real violence. The glass was meant to inflict a severe wound or kill any nearby police officer in an attempt to resist a lawful order from police... There should have been no bail for any of them and they should be occupying a police cell until the protesting stops, be it a week, a month or a year.

The reporting seems to reek of journalism, as opposed to objective reporting. It appears to me, that too much is 'missing' in this story. The firecrackers are way too small to warrant my concern, legal or not. The glass jar is something that I don't think we know enough about. I can think up several potential conversations. Officer: Don't you guys think that carrying around that thing in a glass jar is dangerous? Stoner: Oh yeah, sorry officer. I remember one time Bubba and I got drunk, and smoking some good weed we were messing around with some big firecrakers. Bubba put one is his beer bottle and it busted it up real good but a piece of glass cut him real bad and he had to get stitches. Didn't hurt him bad; he didn't feel a thing. Want to see his scar? Maybe it's different story, I don't know. I sadly suspect that the missing pieces to the story wouldn't command so much attention. And too many of us know and realize how cops can make a nightmare out of a stoned-dumb mistake to be the hero and maybe get promoted. Your story doesn't convince me of anything.

To Janice P. Have you ever been to a Tea Party rally? There were not weapons brought for fighting. In this country we have a right to bear arms. People around you are armed every day. It just depends on where you live if it is concealed carry or open carry. You are wrong to compare the Tea Party to these occupy movements. These occupiers do not have a clear objective and obviously have not gotten their point across if it's taken this long and nothing has come of it. They have cost cities thousand of dollars, done damage that is uncalled for and trash public property with no concern for anyone but themselves.

This isn't much different from people, who attended Tea Party rallies, wearing weapons. In both instances, no weaponry was used. The same standards must be applied to ALL individuals and groups in circumstances of protest. Both have the potential to be used as tools of violence. The important issue is that in no case were they so used. I am MUCH more fearful of extreme right-wing revolutionary, militant groups, which have been training with weapons for years across this nation. Hopefully, Homeland Security is monitoring them, for the safety of all of us. Granted, one or two individuals can cause damage and mayhem, but armed militias can cause FAR more.

Has the police department notified the Department of Homeland Security regarding this attempted domestic terrorist attack? Or do they get a pass because of the left?

I wonder if these three belong to Obama army. The artical didn't mention who the three were a member of. I hope they can let us know about that. Where is the medis on this story. I also wonder if obama is still supporting this movement. He and a few democrats alone with the ,unions thugs, Acron, marxist and anti amerian were stamping there approval on the OWS. Dudes went in with the INTENT of blowing this up and causing harm to the police. And while not much compared to military ordinance, it is certainly enough to cause a lot of pain and suffering, even death. Too bad the BATF doesn't see this potential attack on an officer of the law as big enough for a federal charge. Or better yet, if homeland security wasn't in bed with the libs and facists in this movement, I think a good argument could be made that these are homegrown terrorists.
