PORTLAND - The estranged husband of murder suspect, Holly Grigsby said he’s still trying to comprehend what she’s accused of doing.

”I truly never thought that she would go out like this,” said Dannel Larson.

Investigators say Grigsby and David Pedersen went on a three state killing spree that left four people dead, including Oregon teen, Cody Myers.

A California Highway Patrol officers arrested the couple last week north of Sacramento.

The suspects are currently being held at the Yuba County, California jail awaiting extradition to Washington State.

“She had a wild side, but she was a good person,” said Larson from his Portland apartment on Wednesday.  “I thought she loved her kid more than anything.”

Larson said he and Holly married in 2008 and have a two year old named Danny, but he said they recently separated.

Despite their marital problems Larson said he considered Grigsby to be a good mother until recently.

“I mean, abandon her son? I just totally never thought it in a million years,” Larson said.

Larson said he hasn’t seen Grigsby in several weeks.

While he said he knew that Holly had been with David Petersen, he said he could have never imagined the alleged killing spree the pair would embark on.

”I would have never thought this was the path he (Pedersen) was going to take her on,” Larson said.

Larson declined to comment on the crimes or the possible motives behind the alleged murders.

He did, however, say that he’s sorry for the four victims, and sorry that his son now faces a future without a mother.

“He lost his mother,” Larson said.  “Granted, Cody (Myers), I feel sorry for his family and him, but yeah, Danny’s definitely a victim of all of this too.”

I hope little Danny, since he's very young, can forget all about his mother and won't have to learn what she's like until he's old enough to cope - if ever. Maybe his dad can find a good wife who'll make both him and his son happy. And I hope ex-mom never, ever gets out of prison.
