House fire death ruled a homicide

EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- The Lane County Sheriff’s Office says the death investigation at 1285A River Road in Eugene has now turned into a homicide investigation.

They’ve arrested Robert Baimbridge, 41, of Springfield for the murder of 51-year-old Moji Tholl. First responders showed up at the home Tuesday after several calls to 911 about a house fire.

Investigators believe Baimbridge killed Tholl then started a fire. He’s charged with felony murder and arson.

Detectives say the suspect and victim did know each other, but they're not releasing a motive or cause of death.

@Pragmatist: Felony murder is a crime in which another person dies because ANOTHER felony, like rape, arson, or burglary. It's a fine legal description, which sets this kind of murder apart from other kinds of murder.

He was charged with FELONY murder? Good thing they didn't just slap him on the wrist with a misdemeanor murder.
