Springfield (KMTR) – Help is available for families struggling to buy life-saving medications.

A local non-profit, Cascade Health Solutions in Springfield, helps uninsured families get free or reduced-price prescription medications.

The organization navigates complicated paperwork and bridges the gap between the pharmaceutical companies and physicians.

For the Reinhardt family, the program was a lifesaver.

When Jason Reinhardt lost his job at Monaco Coach, he also lost his medical insurance.

His teenage son, Joshua, has mild cerebral palsy, ADHD, and bipolar disorder.  He needs four different medications each day, at a cost of $1,800 a month.

Thanks to Cascade Health Solutions, they now pay $10 a month.

“They allowed me to breath,” says Jason.  “When you're sitting with your head barely above water, nostrils bobbing up and down, trying to find somebody to help—that was the biggest blessing.”

In five years, Cascade Health Solutions has helped people get their hands on about $2 million worth of medication.

Uninsured and low- to medium-income families by call 541-744-8546 to find out of they qualify.

This must be a horrible blow to those liberals who WANT to socialize our medical system. Imagine a non-profit fixing a problem that THEY believe can only be fixed by socialized medicine. I love it when liberals are proven wrong about their socialist agenda by capitalist driven charity.
