EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- Eugene Police are reaching out to find the owner of a likely heirloom diary found last month.
During the arrest of a subject breaking into vehicles in a parking garage at 700 Willamette Street officers located a diary from the 1960s.
According to records, the apparent owner of the diary passed away in 1972. At this time it is unknown if the diary was coincidentally found there or if it was stolen and abandoned by the suspect caught stealing from vehicles that afternoon.
Officers have attempted to locate possible owners of the diary without success, and are now reaching out to the public in an attempt to reunite the heirloom with the appropriate party.
Anyone who may recognize the diary and have information about its rightful owner is asked to contact the Eugene Police Department at 541 682-2814.
