UPDATE
ALBANY, Ore. (KMTR) -- On Monday, January 14, at approximately 7:40 AM, Sweet Home Police responded to a reported criminal trespass at 122 Holley Road. The complainant stated that a neighbor, later identified as Adam Foss, got into his vehicle which was parked at his home. The suspect refused to leave when asked.
Upon officer arrival the complainant asked that Foss be directed to leave and be given a trespass warning but did not wish to pursue charges.
After observing Foss walk back toward his own residence located at 128 Holley Road, the officer observed a grenade sitting along the curb and sidewalk near the front of the Foss residence. Additional units responded, the area was cordoned off and traffic diverted with the assistance of ODOT. The Oregon State Police Bomb Disposal Unit was dispatched and arrived at approximately 10:00 AM. The device was contained and discovered to be inert. Normal traffic flow was returned at approximately 10:30 AM.
Police are continuing to investigate and have had an initial interview with Foss. Foss stated he found the device when cleaning his house yesterday and placed it near the street this morning. Neighbors confirmed that it had been at the location found for some period of time before police arrived.
