WALTERVILLE, Ore. (KMTR) -- Firefighters from several agencies were called to a barn fire in Waterville early Wednesday morning. The first calls for help came in shortly after 2:30 AM.
When crews arrived, the building was fully involved and there was no way to save the structure. Fire crews let the fire run its course and the building collapsed about twenty minutes later.
No one was inside the barn and McKenzie Valley Fire and Rescue Chief Darren Bucich says investigators are working to find the barn’s owner. “In fact, at this point, I’m not even sure who owns the barn,” Bucich said. “And as far as contents, there was some sort of a small RV, but we really haven't gotten close enough to identify a whole lot of the contents.”
There was also a supply of hay inside.
Firefighters say the building was rather old. It had an electrical feed, but what caused the blaze not been determined yet.
