EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- Fire crews from all over the state practiced extraction exercises at a Eugene wrecking yard Saturday and Sunday.

About thirty departments sent teams to brush up on skills they use to safely get victims out of mangled cars after crashes. The yard space and 150 vehicles were donated for this weekend’s drills.

Organizers say scrap metal prices are so high, they wouldn’t be able to put on these training events without help.
