How much does a passive, environmentally friendly building cost versus the savings in energy over the long haul? And if the savings are substantial and more of these structures are built, how long before local governments and utility companies start whining because they are not pulling in as much in fees and taxes, and jack up the rates? It's a vicious circle, and the only real winner is the government, which can unilaterally impose whatever it wants, a la EWEB!
