Eugene (KMTR) - The new Eugene Urgent Care facility officially opens Friday but patients started trickling in over the weekend. The clinic is the brainchild of a group of local doctors, who made the decision to open their on facility after the Peacehealth Urgent Care moved across the freeway to Springfield.
Besides patient rooms, the new clinic includes: an on site laboratory, high tech digital x-ray facilities and coming soon, a pharmacy.
The doctors who founded the facility aren't associated with a group and used money out of their own pockets, along with a bank loan, to make their idea a reality.
“We’re planning on stay here, obviously we’re quite invested,” said nurse practitioner Mitch Boriskin.
They’re not only invested in their business, but also in the needs of patients -- both insured and uninsured.
The urgent care takes most insurance carriers.
For those who aren't covered, there's another option, a $90 onsite fee to see a doctor.
The new urgent care facility is in the University district of Eugene at 598 East 13th Avenue, at the corner of Patterson Street.
