Eugene (KMTR) - A Eugene teenager guilty of killing two people while speeding away from police has been sentenced.

16 Year old Emanuel Herrera-Gutierrez will spend a little more than 6 years in prison, and then be deported.

On March 7th, an Oregon State Police trooper attempted to stop Herrera-Gutierrez on Beltline.  Herrera-Gutierrez sped away, traveled to West 11th Avenue in Eugene and headed west.

A short time later he plowed into a pick up truck at West 11th and Bertelsen at a high rate of speed.

Toni Lynn Bryson and Richard Taylor were thrown from the truck and died.

My main thought is why, if they are going to deport him after he completes his sentence why don't they just deport him now and save the State of Oregon the $200,000+ that it would cost to incarcerate him?????????

If he would have been deported when found out he was an illegal, instead of being allowed to stay in the u.s.a., 2 people would still be alive today.
