Eugene (KMTR) – Vandals smashed out two large glass windows on the front of the Eugene Police Department’s substation at 788 West 6th Avenue sometime Thursday night or Friday morning.

When officers arrived to investigate, they also found damage to a police van and a cruiser used by a parole and probation officer.

It is the second time this year vandals have targeted the station.  On January 6th, someone spray-painted graffiti on a police van which was parked at the facility.

Police ask anyone with information about the latest incident to call (541) 682-8888.

The few police that Eugene has were probably dealing with calls for service or patrolling the streets trying keep people safe. Hey Fawne, go on a ride-along or attend the Citizens Police Academy like I did if you have some free time. I asked the same questions you did until I did the aforementioned. I was astonished at the amount of crime there was and how few police officers there were. That was enough reason that I moved out of the city into a small town nearby. The substation is only open during business hours but patrol officers can come in at anytime to take their lunch or write reports on the computers.

You would think that they would have some sort of camera system there. Especially since this is the second time this happened
