EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- Police are investigating two separate grabbing incidents reported by students at Yujin Gakuen Japanese Immersion Elementary School within the last month.
Police say November 9, a student reported she was walking in the school's outdoor breezeway and was grabbed from behind. She said the person briefly choked her, then let go, pushed her and walked away. The student did not see her attacker and the only descriptive information she could provide was seeing a dark blue sweatshirt sleeve.
A letter to parents on November 20 said, "The police could not determine who was involved, a student or another person. The investigation did not find any evidence of an intruder, although the possibility could not be ruled out."
Monday December 3, a nine-year-old told police an unknown male grabbed her by the arm, also while she was in the breezeway at Yujin Gakuen around 1 PM. Police say she screamed and fought back and the suspect ran away.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s with medium build. He has short brown hair and is clean shaven. The student said he was wearing a green shirt and either jeans or slacks.
The school went into lock down right after the incident was reported and police searched the area but did not find anyone matching the suspect description.
Yujin Gakuen parents received a voicemail and email that afternoon, describing the attack.
Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call Eugene police.
