EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- First graders at McCornack Elementary School crafted special greeting cards with original art and sold them all year to raise money for fire safety. Thursday they presented a check for $44 to Casey the Fire Dog.

Casey's big brother Cody - short for Fire Code Inspector - is an official Fire Safety Dalmatian of the Eugene Fire and EMS Department and founder of a non-profit called Cody's Friends for Fire Safety. The money students raised will help Cody and Casey teach kids how to avoid fire danger.
