EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- A Eugene business has been ranked as one of the top companies to work for in the state. McKenzie Commercial Contractors came in at number 3 among Oregon's small businesses.The list of the "100 Best Companies to Work for in Oregon" was announced last week. 273 companies participated this year, and more than 14,000 employees completed anonymous surveys about their workplaces.
The rankings are based on factors like management, career development, and benefits.
McKenzie Commercial has been in Eugene since 1983, and they couldn't be happier about the achievement.
"We were all surprised, especially me,” said the company’s owner, Todd Glenz. “I knew we were on the list somewhere because we were notified a couple months ago that we were among the top 100, but I had no idea that we'd be ranked as number 3.”
The company has worked on projects like the big-screen score board at Autzen Stadium, and many of the credit union buildings around town.
This isn't the first time they've made the Top 100 list. They came in at number 17 last year, and number 12 in 2009. Glenz says he's proud of the track record. He always tries to treat his employees the way he'd like to be treated.
