Eugene City Council to vote on plastic bag ban

I want the plastic bag issue brought to a vote to the public. Eugene counsel is acting like a bunch of dictators. Knock of the BS and give Eugene citizen's the right to vote on more of the issues. You have no idea what your citizens want. Time to clean you out of office.

jimbunch you were under the correct impression, the people of Eugene should vote on such an issue. The problem, progressive liberalism does not believe that people know what is best for themselves. So Progressive Liberals are left with little choice. They have to fill all the positions that make policy with their ranks. Once they do so then they dictate. They don't believe in letting the people decide, they dictate. Remember history, absolute power breeds corruption, and that is what the people of Eugene have is corrupt government.

I was under the impression that the Eugene city officials were elected by the people. Shouldn't the plastic bag ban (for the city of Eugene) been decided by the people of Eugene? I don't think that these "elected" officials realize the impact that this will have on the average consumers or the businesses involved.

Why bother to take public comments. The city council has already made up their collective screwed up minds. It would not matter if 100 percent of the people commenting were against the ban, they would still adopt the ordinance, because that is the way liberal progressives are. The only way you will ever get fairness back is to get them out of office. They don't believe in fairness, they just preach it. They don't believe in any thing but their agenda. It is a disease of the mind.
