ROSEBURG, Ore. (KMTR) -- Dr. Larry Parsons, Superintendent of Roseburg Schools, says Fir Grove Elementary School is closed today and tomorrow. There will be no school until Tuesday, after the Veterans Day holiday.

One hundred fifty of 320 students are ill as well as half of the staff. Symptoms include vomiting and diarrhea.

The Douglas County Health Department has inspected the school and has determined there is no food-related connection to the illnesses.

A cleaning crew is being brought in today and tomorrow, which the Health Department recommended.

Buses are taking students to the homes where they have reached parents in advance.

Parents are advised not to send students to school on Tuesday if they are ill.
