EWEB approves rate increase of 5.5%

After a heated debate at their headquarters Tuesday night, the Eugene Water and Electric Board voted to increase the rates they charge for electricity and water.

When they said they would not pass on the cost of the new building I knew they would do it. They just had to wait a little while and come up with another reason to raise rates. Something to remember is we vote on the EWEB board members.

It's not just the brand new facility sunoocoo, it's the sky high wages and benefits and that ever increasing PERS pension us taxpayers need to keep funding. No down econemy at EWEB, just business as usual. (at taxpayer expense)

EWEB pretty much does what it wants..no matter what anyone has to say..they only hear public input to make people think they care..but they have to pay for that new facility they built..that was not supposed to cost us by raising rates..yea kind of like Eugene's temp. gas tax.
