The gangs are new arrivals from Southern CA. Local kids are being recruited. Initiations include violent beatings from other members. This sick trend is a sad day for Eugene/Springfield. Too bad that new arrivals see this region as a place to poison instead of place to improve their lives. We have been invaded by a group determined to establish criminal networks in Lane County.

The gangs have evolved largely from people who have moved here from Southern CA. Then local kids are being recruited to join. Some initiations involve violent beatings by other members. A sick trend for poor Eugene. New arrivals don't appreciate the opportunity to change. Instead they step on us.

Round these cretins up and ship them up to the state pen for an audience with hard-timers ie Scared Straight.
