EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) - Fans from both sides of area universities came together at Autzen Saturday for another annual "Civil War" football game.

Both teams exiting the regular season were looking for a win. The Ducks now have hope for another Pac-12 championship win at the Rose Bowl and even more hope to come home with a BCS win this time as the team hasn't won a BCS bowl since 1917.

Meanwhile, the Beavers have struggled in the 2011 season going three and nine. Fans, however, told NewsSource 16 that they are remaining optimistic.

"I made a bet with one of my friend that it's whoever wins the Civil War, we have to dress like that next year. And I've been dressed been dressed in University of Oregon gear for four years now and.. it hurts. This is a rebuilding year for us, for sure," said Beavers fan Rick Bell.

Other Beaver fans, like Bree and Hailey Edigar, agreed saying, "It's a young team. We'll be better in a couple years. We've got some great history, we will be back within a couple years."

Duck fans are obviously thrilled about the Civil War win.

"We should be really happy with what we have, and if we do make it to the Rose Bowl, it's one of the best bowl games there is to be at. It's the grand daddy, they call it what for a reason," said Duck fan Dick Branca.

The Ducks move on to play in the Pac-12 championship game on December 2nd at Autzen Stadium against UCLA.
