Roseburg Or, (KMTR) The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Roseburg man for allegedly abusing the girl that babysat his children. Deputies say 38 year old Paul Roland gave the girl alcohol, meth, and marijuana. Police say the victim also told investigators Roland abused her sexually for 4 years, starting when she was just 15 years old.

The victim, now eighteen, contacted deputies. Investigators say it’s not unusual for a victim of sexual abuse hold off on approaching authorities.

"After they get out of that situation, and talk to people, they sometimes come to their senses and say 'Hey, that wasn't right, I better tell somebody about this.' and in this case naturally she's worried that he may do this to someone else." says Jeff Wheaton with the Douglas County Sheriff’s office.

Wheaton says they are still looking for other victims, and possibly other suspects. They say others might have known about Roland’s illegal activity, or even helped facilitate it.
