ROSEBURG, Ore. (KMTR) -- Another Oregon sheriff says he would refuse to enforce any new Federal gun law he believes is unconstitutional.

Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin sent a letter to Vice President Joe Biden saying that he "will refuse to participate in or tolerate enforcement actions against citizens that are deemed unconstitutional".

Linn County and Crook County sheriffs earlier sent similar letters to Vice President Biden.

Justme- by your logic chevrolet corvettes sports cars should be illegal. why would you need a car that has the capability to go over 2 times the legal speed limit. Quit drinking the liberal media cool-aid.

Judging a persons mental health to own a gun with Obamacare Cash Bonus Bias is what we will have ..... I don't think you can one size fits all judge the state of a persons mental health to determine if they qualify for gun ownership by just asking all doctors to be that judge , because this sets up a scenario of political influence over the doctors that already are going to experience income disparity from Cuts from Obamacare that could be used to influence with a financial benefit if the doctors are given a extra Bonus for the amount of people that are found to be unqualified to own a gun not just because they are showing signs of mental illness . See Leaving this up to just your doctor without a 3 rd party intervention that is not being bias towards the judgment process because of some sort of bonus coming from the Obamacare financial aid envelope for producing more and more banned gun owners is where we now need to take this debate fast or this could have a broad sweeping ban on a large percent of people owning guns ! This needs serious debate about how many doctors and outside professionals that are in the judgment overview of a persons state of mind that is not a beneficiary of Obamacare in any way shape or form is how a persons state of mind should be judged . Thanks for your time and take care .

Wrong again Baldr: the sheriff is not legally required to enforce "federal regulations". FYI, I won't be reading your misinformed and poorly researched blog.

Sorry, but he can't pick and choose which laws he enforces, and it isn't up to sheriff's to play "judge" and decide which laws are constitutional or not. New gun regulations may rub this "Wild West" sheriff the wrong way, but he still has to enforce them. Otherwise, it's time for him to step down. My blog post on this: http://newtrajectory.blogspot.com/2013/01/insurrectionist-sheriffs-paranoid-about.html
