The local surrounding police agencies low staffing issues and lack of knowing campus layout should concern university folks that are in denial. Why have local tragedies like Thurston high school in the late 90s and the Autzen stadium shooter in the mid 80s escaped so many minds? When people need help, they call the police who have firearms. You arm the guys that are assigned to campus who the must meet the same requirements as other state peace officers and you have a better chance at thwarting a mad man's shooting gallery. Guns like drugs will never go away. And only good with guns will stop evil with guns. Not mental health or crisis negotiators when evil is hell bent on killing innocents. Arm the UO guys to stop and/or lower the casulty rate. Any questions, refer to Romans 13:4. Signed, A. Sheepdog

Seahawk, there are plenty of Republican professors. I think it depends on the discipline.

As a professor, I would feel more comfortable knowing that the police on campus could defend us against the nuts that are targeting schools and universities with assault rifles.

If these left wing nuts keep taking over everything were going to need alot more than just guns on campus. I would like to know if there is any republican proffessors at all on the staff or if they are all lefties.
