Eugene (KMTR) – The Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles says more customers are doing business with them on line, so it has decided to save money by closing the DMV Express Office at Eugene’s Valley River Center.  A field office in Hillsboro will also close on May 12.

Furthermore, the DMV says most of the services people show up for in person cannot be done at an express office.

The agency expects to save $500,000 every two years with the closures.

The full-service DMV offices in west Eugene, Springfield and Junction City are not affected.

"Furthermore, the DMV says most of the services people show up for in person cannot be done at an express office" I didn't read that in the press release. I have a feeling that stament is entirely inaccurate.
