Vetzero, I think I read more into what you were saying and I apologize. Most citizens don't understand the difference between city and county enforcement. Two separate departments with jurisdictional boundaries. I support Poling's stance on some the isues, especially the Occupy, but do agree he is overreacting. The fence and security paid by the city was a waste of taxpayers money. Pepper Spray or a tazer, I agree with both. Also, enough kid gloves, this is a great place to committ crime and that time needs to be over. Out with the bleeding hearts. When the criminal finally says they hate going to jail, then they are getting rehabilitated. Also, getting a good thumping by the victim wouldn't hurt. Be safe.

Say, Neato Your not making yourself very clear and your message is diffucult to comprehend what your telling me. But I did get the part about the county having nothing to do with the city and to yank on the County Commisioner's robes about crime in the county. I know that but thought it good to add that wish to my list. I don't have to concern myself with silly half naked women banging gongs in the middle of the night...it's nothing a big can of pepper spray used indiscriminatly won't take care of. Doesn't bother me a bit, I'm not afraid of them, let's rumble...I know all about those crazy OE people and I know they are relativily harmless otherwise...Poling and family are acting weak and fearful, and are, in my opinion, socially misunderstanding about a great many things besides a bunch of hippies camped on his lawn. I live around and not very far away at all from far worse company, thieves, gangbangers, addicts, drunks, dumpster divers and all other assorted creepy folks running around out this way with hardware loose in their brains. Lot of crime out here and I'm fed up with it. The 'soft on crime' city council either stiffens up and gets real with our law enforcement needs real soon or OUT of office they must go. Responsible citizens and voters WILL find a city council that WILL deliver and cause the arrest of ALL these thieving, drinking and drugging criminal punks, haul em off to jail where they belong and then after being convicted in court, sent UP to do TIME or, by golly, out THAT group will go. The time for mollycoddling Lane County and particularly, Eugene's criminals and sending them through the revolving door of our county jail and right back out on the street MUST come to screeching halt and that, right soon. I mean it, if it hairlips the Pope, by golly, we're going to get this done. The safety and well being of our familys and children are at stake and every bit as important as Mr Poling's. What was wrong with the chain fence ? Not stylish ?

I will say it again: STOP VOTING FOR THE SAME OLD POLITICIANS. NO, there is NO guarantee that you won’t get someone just like them, but you just MIGHT get something better. Keep voting them OUT until you get ones that will stop wasting our hard earned money, as in this case. And I do mean that they ALL have to go: EVERY one of them. I’m so sick and tired of all of them, and apparently, a lot of people actually BELIEVE the crap they spin before and during elections!! If we vote them all out, then there can’t be any ‘good ol’ boys club, and they will have to at least make an effort to do what we want (which is what”... of the people, by the people and for the people..." means). If they don’t, vote THEM out and try again.

I support George poling and what he has stood up to. But the extra patrols and fencing etc, I don't think was right. Give him a tazer and extra rounds for it, now that seems more reasonable. Vetzero, there is a difference between the city, county, and state. Poling has no votes on jail capacity or Depuites on the road. The tax payers and commissioners do. Vent this to the commissioners and get rid of Handy and Sorenson who don't support police. Drain whatever - non-violent or not, how would you like it if people pitched tents onto your lawn and started pounding on your door in the middle of the night. Reverse the role and it is people that oppose what you stand for and believe in. For example, employed people that are clean from drugs and make their own money. Just guessing, anxiously awaiting your response.

This man must think he is more important than REAL victims of crime -(like someone who's been robbed raped molested...)! Oh brother! The Mayor doesn't have anything to do with the police! That fence is ridiculous!! This man is a weenie! Surely his ward could be better represented- VOTE him out PLEASE!!!!

Oh STOP it, George Your getting no more and no less protection then what is afforded most other Eugene residents...and be grateful your getting any kind of help at all. Folks out in the county get next to nothing. Who do you think you are ?....privliege character ?...a 'special citizen' of some sort ? You don't think my cops and city government are not doing enough to protect you and your family ? ... Really ? Fine, pack it up and...move...somebody else will take your job. You tell us out here in the public, frankly, what more do you think should have been done for you ??? as you have not elaborated much at all of what the mayor should have done to more concisly meet you and your family's needs. Already your getting or have got what most of the rest of us do NOT get when confronted with something like this ourselves. I'm out here in Ward 5 along Bailey Hill Rd in W Eugene and what we're seeing is a sharp increase in crime...graffiti all up and down Bailey Hill Rd for starters, it goes downhill from there...so what do you suggest we DO about that...huh ? I'll tell you what "I" want....I want more police on the streets, more Lane County Deputies out in the county, I want our jail opened to capacity and staffed...then filled up with the rotten S.O.B.'s out busting into cars, burglarizing and committing mayhem and mischief citywide. And I am not addressing all the violent, meth related crimes that are increasing as well. I want the city and county courts overfilled with criminals being dragged before a judge and sent up to Salem or somewhere...away from us...locked up. Thats what I want.......you ? You think YOU got problems ?........HA ! I want the city council AND the mayor to get up off yer buts and start dealing with this crime wave. Come election time, I promise you, if you and the others on the council don't start getting with it and start taking countermeasures...we'll just see who else would be willing to come election time.

What a friggen cry baby! both "incidents" were non-violent protests. Sure has his panties in a wad over some naked chicks, but it did get him a brand new fence paid for by the city.
