Coos Bay (KMTR) - A Coos Bay group is putting on the first ever community paddle this weekend.  Organizers with "Stand Up! For the Bay" hope to establish a local chapter of the Surfrider Foundation in the Coos Bay area.  The group's mission is to protect and enjoy oceans, waves, and beaches.  Participants are welcome to hit the bay on a kayak, canoe, or stand-up paddle board.

The paddle is this Saturday morning, October 15h, starting at 8 a.m.  Check-in at the Coos Bay boardwalk.  A luau will follow, with food and live music, and more information about the Surfrider Foundation.  Registration is $25, you can sign up this week at Waxer's Surf & Skate shop.  If you can't register until Saturday, just make sure you arrive early.
