Roseburg, Or (KMTR) Detectives are still investigating the death of a Roseburg teacher who's body was found in a Springfield park Sunday. Now Frank Cross’s friends and co-workers at Umpqua Community College say they're searching for answers of their own, how to move on with out him.
They say though Frank was a relative newcomer at the school, he began teaching there in September, they knew he would be a great addition and were excited to have him aboard, now, they're coping with his absence.
Students took to our website this morning praising Frank as a mentor. They say he was a patient, thoughtful man who always made time to go the extra mile for his students, working hard to make sure even the most mundane coursework was exciting and fun.
His fellow teachers echoed those feelings.
“Many people on campus were just getting to know him and know of his work,” says Dean of Technical Education Mark Williams, “everybody was very excited to be working with him and looking forward to it, so it's very sad.”
Frank is survived by his wife and his two sons. Both students and teachers say their heart goes out to everyone involved.
Deputies are looking for information on Frank's whereabouts before his body was found. If you saw him or his car, a gold 2002 Buick LeSabre, call the Lane County Sheriff's Office at 541-682-4141.
