Eugene (KMTR) – Shots were fired at the U.S. District Courthouse in Eugene sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

Three bullets broke windows on the Mill Street side of the office of U.S. Representative Peter DeFazio. A fourth hit the outside wall above the congressman’s second-floor office.

It is not known whether his office was the intended target. DeFazio’s staff noticed the damage as they arrived for work Thursday morning.

Eugene police and the FBI are investigating the case and are asking anyone with useful information to call the FBI’s Eugene office during business hours at (541) 343-5222 or the FBI in Portland 24 hours a day at (503) 224-4181.

More like stupid, given the time frame of the shots there was no one (except security)in the building and unless a high powered rifle was used they have cameras to take photos.

This is scary. The thought that someone is that crazy to take aim at a federal building. It' pure luck that no one was in the office at the time.
