Eugene (KMTR) – The Lane Blood Center hopes to get you to roll up your sleeves by appealing to your appetite. Here’s the offer: Donate a pint of blood and get a free junior breakfast burrito from Burrito Amigos Restaurants.The Lane Blood Center and Burrito Amigos have teamed up for the free breakfast offer to help boost the local blood supply before spring break. That's when a lot of regular blood donors will gone, but the blood bank still needs to keep supplies up to be ready for emergencies at a moment’s notice.
“You could use 20-30 units of blood for one car accident victim if it's a bad accident,” says Kristi McElhinney of the Lane Blood Center. “We like to collect about 60 units every day. And blood has a shelf life of about 42 days, depending on how quickly the hospitals are using it.”
The free burrito offer is good through March 31. Anyone who gives blood at any Lane blood drive or at the donor center will receive a voucher for a free Burrito Amigos junior breakfast.

The minimum age for donating blood is 16.
