CANNON BEACH – The high winds at the Oregon coast nearly proved deadly for a couple driving near Cannon Beach Monday.
A large branch smashed through the windshield of an SUV, right between the two occupants in the front seat.
Firefighters said the branch fell from a tree on Highway 101, just south of Cannon Beach.
The couple and two dogs inside the vehicle were able to escape without any injuries.
