ALBANY, Ore. (KMTR) -- An 8-year-old boy was killed in a traffic accident on Interstate 5 near Albany Sunday night. Oregon State Police (OSP) say his 3-year-old brother was seriously hurt and taken to the hospital.
The rollover crash happened about 6:50 PM when a northbound Dodge pickup with a driver and five passengers traveled into the center median and rolled several times, coming to rest in the southbound lanes. The 8-year-old boy was ejected from the pickup.
The 50-year-old male driver, a 37-year-old female passenger and two other children in the truck had minor injuries.
No names have been released.
OSP investigators say a problem with a tire may have contributed to the accident.
