Body found near Dorena Reservoir believed to be missing Oakland man

LANE COUNTY, Ore. (KMTR) -- The Lane County Sheriff’s Office has recovered the body of a deceased male believed to be Brian Trumbo who went missing last month in Douglas County.

The body was found on the north side of Dorena Reservoir near the Harms Park boat landing. Lane County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue teams, along with detectives, are working to recover the body. The Medical Examiner will make the final identification of the body and cause of death. The investigation will be conducted by the Lane County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Medical Examiner’s Office. No further information is available at this time.

BACKGROUND

On Thursday, December 27, 2012, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by concerned members of Brian Trumbo's family. They reported that they had not had contact with Trumbo since December 11. Trumbo reportedly left his home in Oakland and was traveling in a green Ford Expedition bearing Oregon license plate 816FNZ en route to the Eugene area.

There was a possible sighting of Trumbo in the Row River Road area on the north side of Dorena Reservoir on December 12.
