NOTI, Ore. (KMTR) – Someone stole the bleachers from a Babe Ruth baseball field in Noti. Thieves ripped away the aluminum benches but left the steel frames sitting on a field used by the Elmira Babe Ruth League players.

The Fern Ridge School District donated the bleachers to the Babe Ruth League. Replacing the seats will cost the youth league about $1,200.

Elmira Babe Ruth League president Troy Demello said, “Being a non-profit organization, we rely solely on fundraisers and donations. Other teams that come out here and play, that's a place for them to sit down, for parents to watch, for spectators that don't bring chairs.”

There was lumber nearby that had been donated for the group to build dugouts and benches, but the thieves didn't touch that. Since the theft involves metal, it's likely the crooks will try to sell it.

Elmira Babe Ruth is now trying to figure out how to get things back in shape by Super Saturday, April 28 - that's when the new season kicks off.

If and when they find these good for nothing lowlife POS's they should let every baseball player from Elmira Babe Ruth take one swing at them with the bat of their choice!

Use the lumber to make the seats.
