EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) - A local high school senior is battling cancer for the second time in a year.
Blake Nichols, a student at Willamette High School in Eugene, was first diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma last June. After receiving chemotherapy, Blake thought his cancer had been treated.
Last month, Blake's doctors at Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland told him that the cancer had reappeared.
Blake is currently receiving his second round of chemotherapy. His cancer treatments - already emotionally difficult for Blake and his family - are also financially challenging.
If you would like help Blake, you can donate to his medical fund at Oregon Community Credit Union.
Various community members have also set up fundraisers for Blake. On Monday, February 25, Pappy's Pizzeria on Barger Road in Eugene is donating half of all orders placed with a flyer. Click
here to print one out and help Blake's cause.
The Pampered Chef is also donating a percentage of proceeds to Blake until March 15. Go to
www.pamperedchef.biz/ambers, click on 'Our Products, enter 'Tuski' in the host name and search for the host. You can then click on the link 'Blake Nichols Medical Fund' and start shopping.
On Friday, February 22, Willamette High School will have a 50/50 raffle during the boys' basketball game at 7:00 PM. Half of the money raised will go toward Blake's medical fund.
There will also be a raffle for a Mary Kay gift basket the same night; information about the basket will be available at the game.
