Attempted armored car robbery in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (KMTR) - Officers from the Springfield Police Department responded to a report of a Robbery attempt outside the U.S. Bank at 437 Main Street on Thursday.

Officers contacted an employee of GARDA armored transportation who advised he was bringing money out of the bank when a tall white male approached him and demanded the money. 

The employee removed his gun from the holster and the suspect fled the area. The suspect was last seen northbound on 7
th Street from Main.

The suspect is a white male in his 30s, 6 feet tall with a thin build, wearing a black hood, blue jeans and black shoes. He was described as having a deep voice.

The investigation is continuing.
