Eugene (KMTR) - One month after a security breach in the Eugene 4J school district police make an arrest. A 16-year-old former student is now charged with a computer crime. He was cited and released to his parents.
In June, school officials realized someone used a district computer without authorization to access files related to the school's meal program. They were able to see student i-d numbers, birth dates, and in some cases, phone and social security numbers. Following Wednesdays arrest, police said the overall risk to students' information appears to be low.
