EUGENE, Ore. (KMTR) -- An exclusive turn for Eugene for the summer of 2011, as the city hosts one of television's most popular traveling shows.

PBS' most watched program, “Antiques Roadshow” spent Friday, June 3rd, 2011, setting up shop at the Lane Events Center.

Around 60 travel crew members arrived in the area earlier in the week to help put the show together. While crews spent Friday building the in the Convention Center building at the Lane Events Center, several remote crews are also out in the field.

Over the course of Thursday, Friday and Saturday, crews will take part in remote shoots around Western Oregon, filming segments on fly fishing collecting in Vida, wine glasses and decanter collecting in Eugene, and WWI uniforms explained in Salem.

Eugene is an exclusive stop for the Antiques Roadshow in 2011. It's one of only 6 places the crew will visit, including El Paso, Texas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania; Atlanta, Georgia; and Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The last time the “Roadshow” visited Oregon was in 2005, when it stopped in Portland.

3000 pairs of tickets were given out for the event in Eugene. Each person with a ticket is allowed to bring two items. Around 70 appraisers are expected to look at around 12,000 antiques in 10 hours.

Out of the around 6000 people expected, only between 50 to 55 will make it on the television broadcast of Antiques Roadshow.

With more than a dozen seasons under the belt, Antiques Roadshow is PBS' highest rated show.

We tell people to bring something they don't know about. Our experts are here to answer questions and we like them to bring something they're looking to find more about.. But we don't give any instructions really on what not to bring, other than don't bring any vehicles, don't bring any boats.. It's gotta fit through a standard door,” says Amy Santamaria, Event Producer for the Antiques Roadshow.

Out of the event in Eugene, Antiques Roadshow will produce 3 hours worth of content, which will air between January and June of 2012. More finite air-dates will emerge in September 2011, when PBS releases its air schedule for that time frame.

Viewers interested in catching the program are urged to check the Antiques Roadshow website for more information.
